About AI Cost Tools
AI Cost Tools is a static AI API cost calculator for estimating token costs, API calls, and monthly API spend across supported providers.
Why This Site Exists
AI API pricing is hard to reason about because product teams must combine model prices, user behavior, prompt size, output length, repeated context, and monthly traffic. This site exists to make those assumptions visible before a product goes live.
Who This Tool Is For
- Product managers estimating AI feature cost before launch.
- Founders comparing model choices for support, writing, coding, or agent workflows.
- Engineers checking how input, cached input, and output tokens affect monthly spend.
- Finance or operations teams building a rough API budget before reviewing provider invoices.
Pricing Sources
Pricing data is compiled from official provider pricing pages for OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek. Each listed model in the calculator includes an official source link and a last updated date.
How Pricing Data Is Reviewed
The calculator stores pricing as structured fields: input price, cached input price, output price, provider, model name, official source URL, and last updated date. When pricing changes are known, the visible table and calculator are checked together so the displayed model price and calculated result use the same data.
Update Frequency
Pricing is reviewed when official provider pages change, when a supported model is added or replaced, or when a user reports a pricing mismatch. The site does not automatically sync pricing in real time.
Editorial and Data Review Policy
The site favors practical cost planning over broad model rankings. Guidance pages explain how token pricing affects real workloads such as support bots, writing assistants, document analysis, coding tools, and agent workflows. Provider recommendations are scenario-based, not paid placement.
Limitations
- Pricing is for reference and may change after the listed update date.
- Actual billing can vary by provider, region, usage tier, and account settings.
- The calculator does not automatically sync provider pricing in real time.
- Always verify the latest pricing on the official provider page before production budgeting.
- Some provider charges, such as audio, storage, grounding, batch, priority, fine-tuning, or enterprise discounts, may not be included.
Correction Policy
If a pricing entry, model name, source URL, or cost assumption appears wrong, send the model name, the official provider URL, and the expected value. Corrections that affect calculator results are handled first.
